Ericom Software Drives Market Share Growth Through Expanded Alliances, Tailored for System Integrators, Software Vendors and OEMs

Closter, NJ (January 7, 2002) - Ericom® Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise connectivity and e-Business solutions, today announced a major expansion of its business model designed to drive sales growth through strategic relationships with leading systems integrators (SIs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and OEMs. The expanded alliance initiative is aimed at capitalizing on the market demand from Ericom customers and partners for its enterprise application integration solutions. Research analyst IDC forecasts the enterprise application integration (EAI) market will grow over 30% annually, reaching nearly $21 billion in 2005.

Ericom is investing in its enhanced partner initiatives by growing its partner-dedicated staff and increasing market development funds. This investment will go toward expanding selected partner and channel relationships by adding more joint marketing, training, education and support offerings to help partners implement and extend the company's application integration solutions. Ericom is ramping up to train and support third-party professionals over the next 12 months from the SI, ISV, OEM, and ASP communities.

"Ericom's partner program represents a new direction in our business model," commented Eran Heyman, Founder and CEO of Ericom Software, Inc. "Our success going forward will heavily leverage partners to expand our sales and service capacity, as we continue to extend our technology-leading position in the industry."

Ericom's EAI solution, Host Publisher, helps businesses effectively address the challenges of legacy system integration by minimizing the high costs, long implementation times and extensive business risks associated with re-hosting, redeveloping or migrating corporate data to new systems. With Host Publisher, companies can re-purpose legacy systems into services that can be accessed via SOAP, XML, COM, DCOM and Java, with zero changes to the legacy system - enabling rapid integration with CRM and e-Business applications. The current version, Host Publisher 3.5.1, supports all leading host systems, including Compaq OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX, Tandem NonStop Himalaya, IBM Mainframe, IBM AS/400, HP 3000, Data General, UNIX and Mumps via VT. Host Publisher also supports the following Internet technologies: Microsoft IIS, BEAWeblogic, IBM WebSphere, Iona i-Portal, Macromedia ColdFusion, Nokia WAP G.W., TIBCO, Web Methods, Vitria, Sybase Enterprise Portal, Siebel CRM, eCRM and ePortal web servers.

"Value-based alliances such as those Ericom is establishing through its partner initiative are important because they go beyond traditional reseller relationships to provide customers with the combination of services and technology required to build complete solutions for multiple market segments," said Mark Friedberg, Ericom's Vice President of Business Development. "Customers often prefer to acquire highly customized solutions from integrators they have worked with over a long period of time; now they will be able to obtain Ericom technology through these trusted partners."

Ericom's move to broaden and deepen its relationships across every segment of its alliance partner base - including current OEM and other technology partners - is driven by demand in many market and industry segments such as wireless, Open VMS, healthcare/HIPAA, CRM, insurance, finance and banking.
