New York, NY (January 4, 2021) – Ericom Software, a leader in Zero Trust cloud cybersecurity solutions for secure web and application access, today announced record 2020 sales of its portfolio of Zero Trust security solutions, with strong results delivered across all regions. Adoption of the company’s Remote Brower Isolation (RBI) solution, delivered on the Ericom Global Cloud platform, along with its new Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) product, Ericom Application Isolator, contributed to Ericom’s momentum. These technologies are key components of the Zero Trust Security framework and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) cloud-based security architecture that enterprises are embracing to enable and secure their distributed workforces.
“Ericom security solutions are experiencing strong traction across all of the geographies and verticals that we serve,” said David Canellos, President and CEO. “Our 2020 cloud cybersecurity sales more than doubled the results we delivered in 2019, and increasing market demand, coupled with the global reach and cloud-native architecture of our platform, positions us for even faster growth in 2021.”
As organizations rapidly moved to remote work environments in 2020, they also accelerated the transition of their applications and infrastructure to the cloud. This shift drove intense interest in new cloud-delivered security architectures and frameworks, like Gartner’s SASE and Forrester’s Zero Trust security, that are designed to secure the types of distributed workplaces that have become the norm. Ericom solutions like Remote Browser Isolation (RBI) are essential security controls within these frameworks.
The company’s cloud-native security solutions are delivered on the Ericom Global Cloud, a high-availability distributed cloud platform deployed on Tier-1 cloud infrastructure partners around the world. Ericom added a number of new points of presence (PoPs) in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East in 2020. Each PoP location dynamically increases capacity to accommodate changing data traffic needs. Its flexible architecture ensures an excellent user experience for organizations leveraging Ericom’s security solutions as part of their SASE or Zero Trust security frameworks.
In August, Ericom introduced Ericom Application Isolator, a solution that integrates with existing remote access Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) to protect corporate applications and data from the security risks associated with excessive access rights inside a network.
The solution provides a simple yet powerful way to enforce identity-based microsegmented access controls to address security risks like the spread of ransomware created by the broad access rights granted to users and devices on today’s “flat” corporate networks.
Ericom significantly expanded the number of partners in its PowerPartner Channel Program and announced domestic and international agreements with distributors such as Tech Data, Arrow Electronics, e92plus, and Softprom. Additionally, the company worked with technology partners such as Forcepoint, Citrix, Palo Alto Networks, ContentKeeper, IGEL, Alps System Integration Co., and others to integrate Ericom RBI with their respective security solutions. The strategic partnership with Forcepoint introduced a joint solution named Forcepoint Remote Browser Isolation powered by Ericom, which delivers Ericom’s RBI capabilities within Forcepoint’s Dynamic Edge Protection cloud-native SASE solution, including Forcepoint Cloud Security Gateway and Private Access.
Ericom added a number of key cybersecurity leaders to its team in 2020. Simon Moran, Michael Santacross and Matthew Howes joined the executive team last January to build out Ericom’s global business development and channel partnerships, and John Peterson started a month later in his role as Chief Product Officer, guiding the company’s product strategy and supporting its go-to-market efforts. Later in 2020, Ravi Pather joined the organization as Vice President of Sales for Europe and the Middle East.
Ericom Shield was recognized with a number of industry awards in 2020, taking home three Cyber Defense InfoSec Awards at the 2020 RSA conference, two InfoSec Security 2020 Industry Awards, two People’s Choice Stevie Awards, and a CyberSecurity Breakthrough award.
Canellos continued, “I’m also excited to see improvement in our organization’s annual Net Promoter Score, which is one of the KPIs we use to ensure that we are consistently exceeding our customer’s expectations. I was proud of our 2019 Net Promoter Score of 40, so to see it jump by 25%, to 50 – which industry benchmarks consider excellent – is especially gratifying. While we always have more work to do and are never complacent, it is great to get this feedback from our customers, especially given the important role our cybersecurity services play in their environments.”
