NEW HEAD FOR ERICOM IN THE UK
London, England, May 23, 2000... Ericom Software Inc., renowned for its PowerTerm series of emulators and a leading provider of connectivity solutions for access to host systems, enterprise networks and the Internet, has appointed Ian Platt to launch and run Ericom's new office in the UK.
Ian brings with him a wealth of experience having worked in the computer industry for 14 years. Most recently, he was the Commercial and Marketing Director for UK System Software, where in less than 4 years, he drove sales growth from £600K to over £2.5 million. Prior to that, Ian was the European Product Manager for American software developer, Auto-trol Technology.
Of his new appointment at Ericom, Ian said: "Since it was founded in Israel in 1994, Ericom has grown to become a $15 million turnover company, holding approximately 9% of the global host access market with more than 2 million installations in 45 countries worldwide. Needless to say, the UK and Ireland represent a major market in the European arena and from our new headquarters in the West Midlands, we are looking to achieve 100% growth year-on-year for the next three years. To do this, we will be further developing our relationships with existing clients and penetrating new market opportunities. We will be utilizing our core product range, PowerTerm, and promoting new developments in web-to-host products to drive this growth."
Ericom UK has already got off to a good start, with recently signed deals including the Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone Paging and Aer Rianta.
