webconnect service failed to start, the event log says the service failed to start in a timely fashion.

Hi, I called into support for this issue.  Does anyone know why the webconnect server would fail to start suddenly?  My ptserver log is empty, just shows:



LOG Recycle
Count:

**********************************************************************

Using a 2012 server

Hi Steve,

Thank you for calling in about this issue.  As we determined over our call, your anti-virus, FortiClient, was somehow blocking the WebConnect service from running.  Once disabled, WebConnect worked once again.  There may have been an update today that causes the anti-virus to block certain services.  See if you can add the WebConnect service to a whitelist of some sort.
