Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Release Dates

| 918

Here is some interesting news hot off the presses: the release date of Microsoft’s new workstation operating system, Windows 7, the follow-up version to Windows Vista, will be October 22, 2009. Windows Server 2008 R2, the follow-up version to Windows Server 2008, will be broadly available about the same time. You can find the announcement on Microsoft’s Windows Server Division WebLog.

Ericom PowerTerm WebConnect, our solution for Desktop and Presentation Virtualization (VDI and SBC), already supports Windows 7 both as a client platform and as a virtual desktop. We are currently in the final stages of providing support for Windows Server 2008 R2 as the server platform, and expect to make it available very soon. This continues Ericom’s tradition of being first to support new Microsoft platforms.
