Fuego® and Ericom® Software Announce Partnership to Couple Business Process Management and Legacy Host Adapters

FuegoBPM solution incorporates Ericoms legacy host integration software to reduce overall BPM costs and implementation time for the enterprise

PLANO, Texas and CLOSTER, N.J. March 16, 2004 Fuego, the thought leader in agile business process management (BPM) solutions, and Ericom Software, a leading provider of legacy connectivity solutions, today announced that Fuego will include Ericoms PowerTerm Host Publisher adapters into the connector library of FuegoBPM, its award-winning BPM software. For a limited time, the legacy host adapters will be available free of charge for any FuegoBPM clients.

This partnership enables Fuego clients to easily connect any mainframe or other legacy system they have into their business processes created in FuegoBPM with minimal effort. The Ericom adapters will be pre-packaged into the FuegoBPM Component Manager connector library. Fuegos Component Manager is a robust, wizard-driven facility that automatically generates connections to a wide variety of applications and systems without the need for coding. Ericoms legacy adapters support IBM Mainframe, AS/400, OpenVMS, Unix, Linux, SCO, Tandem, Data General, HP 3000, Mumps and many other systems. Ericom adapters require no changes to existing applications and nothing is installed on the legacy system. Additionally, once the adapters are implemented, companies can use the same adapters that they use with Fuegos BPM processes to build new applications as well.

The problem facing many companies is that their core applications were developed years ago -- long before object orientation, the Internet or standardized messaging interfaces, said Eran Heyman, CEO, Ericom Software. Without a way to interactively monitor and control these applications it is very difficult to integrate them into an overall business process management system. The combination of Ericom with Fuego has changed this paradigm.

Seventy percent of the worlds data still resides on the mainframe and other legacy systems, said Jon Lauck, CEO, Fuego. Giving companies an easy way to link their core legacy applications into their end-to-end business processes is the only way that they can achieve process excellence and realize tangible business results.
