question
The installation of PowerTerm 9.x fails on my Mountain Lion Mac. The error message says that the APP file is damaged, and cannot be opened. How do I solve this?

answer The error message:

Reason for this error:

*Gatekeeper is a new feature in Mountain Lion that builds on OS X`s existing malware checks to help protect your Mac from malware and misbehaving apps downloaded from the Internet.
*Gatekeeper gives you more control over what you install. You can choose the safest option and only allow apps that come from the Mac App Store to open. There is also the default option of only allowing apps that come from the Mac App Store and identified developers. Or you can choose to allow any apps open, just like previous versions of OS X.

Resolution:

Please confirm the following Gatekeeper option is selected: Allow applications downloaded from “Anywhere” is selected. (You can always disable this option after successful installation of PowerTerm InterConnect for Mac OS is completed).
The Gatekeeper options are found in Apple menu > System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General tab under the header "Allow applications downloaded from:"
